NGC 4832 is a 11.6 mag bright lenticular galaxy of the Hubble type S0 in the constellation Centaur in the southern sky . It is estimated to be 160 million light years from the Milky Way and has a diameter of about 85,000 ly.
The object was discovered on June 5, 1834 by John Herschel with an 18-inch reflector telescope, who she liked with “pF, vS, R, sbM to a star 17th mag; pos from star 19th mag (distant 1 ′) = 250.3 degrees “.
