NGC 4828 is a 14.6 mag bright lenticular galaxy of the Hubble type “S0” in the constellation Haar der Berenike in the northern sky . It is an estimated 282 million light years from the Milky Way and has a diameter of about 55,000 ly. The galaxy is a member of the Coma galaxy cluster Abell 1656 .
The galaxies NGC 4816 , NGC 4817 , NGC 4848 , IC 839 are located in the same area of the sky .
The object was discovered on April 22, 1865 by Heinrich Louis d'Arrest .
