NGC 4872 is a 14.4 mag bright galaxy with an active nucleus of the Hubble type SB0 in the constellation Haar der Berenike . It is estimated to be 321 million light years from the Milky Way .
It was discovered on April 11, 1785 by Wilhelm Herschel with an 18.7-inch reflecting telescope, who only noted "two of them".
