NGC 4880 is a lenticular galaxy of the Hubble type SB0 / a in the constellation Virgo on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 60 million light years from the Milky Way and about 55,000 light years in diameter.
The object was discovered by William Herschel on April 12, 1784 .
