NGC 4894 is a 15.0 mag bright lenticular dwarf galaxy of the Hubble type "S0" in the constellation Haar der Berenike in the northern sky . It is an estimated 208 million light years away from the Milky Way , has a diameter of about 30,000 ly and is a member of the Coma galaxy cluster .
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 4884 , NGC 4889 , NGC 4898 , IC 4030 .
The object was discovered by John Herschel on March 30, 1827 .
