NGC 4858 is a 15.2 mag bright bar-spiral galaxy with a high rate of star formation of the Hubble type "SBb" in the constellation Haar der Berenike in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 422 million light years from the Milky Way , about 60,000 ly in diameter, and a member of the Coma galaxy cluster .
In the same area of ​​the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 4860 , NGC 4865 , IC 3943 , IC 3955 .

The object was discovered by Heinrich Louis d'Arrest on April 21, 1865 .
