NGC 5928 is a 12.5 mag bright, lens-shaped galaxy of the Hubble-type S0 in the constellation Snake . It is an estimated 205 million light years from the Milky Way .
It was discovered on May 24, 1791 by Wilhelm Herschel with an 18.7-inch reflector telescope, who described it as "pB, pL, iR, vgmbM".
