Subsequently, from March 31 to May 12, 2019, the participants for the top 4 tournament for the German championship were determined in the play-offs and the “relegated” players in the play-downs, who have to qualify again in the following season .

Alba Berlin started the season as the reigning German champion . The final tournament for the German championship took place in Jena for the first time on May 25 and 26, 2019 . FC Bayern Munich became German champions for the third time .

mode

The main round will be played from October 7, 2018 to March 17, 2019. The four best-placed clubs in each main round qualify for the play-offs and have automatically acquired the right to participate in the following season . The teams in places 5 to 8 in each round compete in the play-downs and play to stay up. Both play-offs and play-downs are played in the best of three mode . The four losing teams of the play-downs and the ninth-placed teams in the main rounds 1, 2 and 3 must qualify again for the following season.
