The nature reserve Darschkower See near Stolzenburg is a nature reserve in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania in the vicinity of the Darschkowsee . It is located five kilometers northwest of Pasewalk . The place Stolzenburg is not far to the southeast. The protected area was designated on September 27, 1990 and reduced in size in 1993. It covers an area of ​​24 hectares.

The protection goal consists in the preservation and maintenance of a drift with semi- arid grass on the high altitudes and wet biotopes in deeper drifts.

The state of the area is rated as good.

There are no public roads in the protected area. A dirt road on the western edge of the area and the bathing area on Lake Darschkow allow views of the area.

History and water balance

The protected area is part of the three kilometer long Oszuges, which ends in north-south direction at the Schlossberg. The castle hill was settled by the Slavs since the 7th century . From the 12th century on, German settlers used the edge of the lake as arable land and grassland.

Flora and fauna

In the deeper channels there are reeds in various forms. The sand lizard is found in the area. Particularly noteworthy bird species are bag tit , red-necked grebe and common snipe .
