Nature reserve Kiesbergwiesen near Bergholz

The nature reserve Kiesbergwiesen near Bergholz is a 57 hectare nature reserve in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . It is located northeast of Brüssow , southwest of Löcknitz and was expelled on October 26, 1983. The protection purpose consists in the maintenance and development of a spring bog with species-rich spring meadows, sedge beds, reed beds and tall herbaceous meadows as well as swamp forests and an animal world adapted to them. The state of the area is assessed as unsatisfactory. The strongly disturbed water balance led to the immigration of alien plant species. The protected area can be viewed from a path to the west.
