The nature reserve Kleiner Krebssee is a 50 hectare nature reserve in the nature reserve Insel Usedom in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . It is located southwest of Bansin and was expelled on March 13, 1996. The Kleiner Krebssee and the Großer Krebssee are located in a glacier tongue basin within the compression moraine range between Bansin and Benz . The state of the area is assessed as unsatisfactory, since the originally nutrient-poor clear water lake has been transformed into a eutrophic lake by discharging sewage and fish production. The areas can only be viewed from a forest path on the western edge of the area.

Flora and fauna

On the west side of the lake, wooded steep slopes with beech forest reach up to the shore. On the east bank there is arable, gently sloping terrain. The slopes in the south have dry vegetation covered with gorse and small trees. Highlighting values breeding birds in the area are dwarf and black-necked grebe , Karmingimpel , teal and red kite .
