history
In the last days of the Second World War , between April 17 and May 8, 1945, Neudorf became the scene of fierce and varied battles between troops of the Wehrmacht and the Red Army . On April 20, the Soviets invaded the place, but were temporarily thrown back by the German troops two days later, whereupon Neudorf was evacuated by the civilian population. In addition to civilian casualties, there was also major damage to buildings, which was also caused by air strikes . The village of Zlabern was badly damaged by an air raid. War crimes against the civilian population of Zlabern, such as rape and murder, also and especially after the surrender of the Wehrmacht on May 8, 1945, are attested.
Population development
After the sharp decline in the population up to the end of the 20th century, it stabilized. The reason for this was the positive birth balance with a balanced migration balance .
