List of Nokia mobile phones
This list provides an overview of Nokia cell phones from 1992 to 2011.
Nokia first launched a mobile phone in 1987 under the name Mobira Cityman 900 . Mass production began in 1992 with the Nokia 1011 , Nokia’s first GSM mobile phone. In 2011, Nokia entered into a partnership with Microsoft , under whose aegis the Nokia Lumia smartphone series was launched. Microsoft took over the cell phone business from Nokia in April 2014 and only produced simple cell phones under the name Nokia until the trademark rights were sold at the end of 2016 . At the beginning of 2017, the Nokia licensee HMD Global from Finland, founded a year earlier, launched new Nokia smartphones .
Designations
Originally, all Nokia mobile phones were only given a four-digit number ( Nokia 1xxx to Nokia 8xxx ). For slightly improved models, a newer hardware version is given an i ( Nokia 2110 and Nokia 2110i ). GPS models specially marketed for navigation purposes with a suitable car holder are referred to as navigators ( Nokia 6110 Navigator ). Another series are the fold-out Communicator models ( Nokia Communicator 9xxx and Nokia E90 Communicator ) with a large display and a full keyboard. Since 2005, parallel to the four-digit series, there have also been series that have been designed for specific applications; These include the Nokia NSeries (multimedia smartphones ), Nokia CSeries (inexpensive mass market smartphones) , Nokia ESeries (business smartphones) and the Nokia XSeries (music and video smartphones).
With the introduction of the Nokia 500 in early August 2011, a new name was presented. The mobile phones should now only be named with a three-digit number ( Nokia 100 to Nokia 999 ), whereby a higher number stands for a higher quality device with more functionality and features and a lower number for an entry-level mobile phone . In October 2011, however, it was announced that two new product lines would be launched: the Nokia Asha series includes feature phones running the Series 40 operating system with the designation Nokia Asha and a three-digit number ( Nokia Asha 2xx to Nokia Asha 5xx ) and for Part with a full keyboard; The Nokia Lumia series includes touchscreen smartphones with the Windows Phone operating system called Nokia Lumia followed by a three-digit number ( Nokia Lumia 5XX to Nokia Lumia 9XX ).

The Nokia 1011 , Nokia's first GSM mobile phone, was launched in November 1992. With its dimensions of 195 mm × 60 mm × 45 mm and a weight of 475 g, it was more manageable than the competing product Motorola International 3200 , which was known as bone (dimensions 334 mm × 43 mm × 67 mm, weight 520 g) . The sales price without a mobile phone contract was around DM 2300 . So far, the 1011 is the only mobile phone from the manufacturer where the model name represents the date of release - November 10th (1992).

- Nokia 1110
The Nokia 1110 is the successor to the 1100. With dimensions of 104 mm × 44.1 mm × 17.5 mm, it is slightly smaller than its predecessor. In contrast to this it has polyphonic ring tones, a black and white display (white on black) with amber or green background lighting, a speakerphone and a lower weight. The integrated flashlight has been omitted.
The successors are the Nokia 1110i and Nokia 1112. The display is again conventional (black on white). The backlighting of the keyboard mat is white, the display is illuminated in amber (1110i) or white (1112). A voice output for the time has also been added. There are special variants for the respective language areas (e.g. Russian ).
- Nokia 1200
At 102 mm × 44.1 mm × 17.5 mm, it is almost the same size as the 1110. It has the same functions and display lighting as the 1110i and, like the Nokia 1100, has an integrated flashlight.
- Nokia 1208
The Nokia 1208 is a dual-band mobile phone (900/1800 MHz) and offers basic functions such as hands-free function, vibration alarm, organizer functions and alarm clock. The DSTN display is 96 × 68 pixels. - Nokia 2110 / PT-11
The Nokia 2110 was available from 1995. Despite the subsidy when the contract was signed, this mobile phone was expensive, but it still became a best seller. The four-line, monochrome display was illuminated in green. It could send and receive SMS and already had the two menu buttons below the display for control and arrow buttons for navigation, which are still known today. The antenna could be pulled out. The cell phone already had the ringtone known today as "Nokia Tune". The 2110 was also available for DCS-1800 (or GSM-1800), in Germany as PT-11 from E-Plus . The German version differed slightly in design from the GSM-900 or international DCS-1800 variant; the power button was on the left side above the volume control buttons, and the arrow buttons were not above, but next to each other. In addition, the front cover was mostly made in the company color (green), more rarely also anthracite, like the back and the battery or the complete GSM-900 variant. A bird symbol (the network operator's logo at the time) was then printed on the back of the SIM card cover . To open this flap, however, the accumulator had to be removed. This plate could be exchanged for a variant with a small button with which the device could be clipped onto a belt holder and rotated 360 °. The Nokia 2110i was launched in 1995. It has the type designation NHE-4NX and weighs 236 grams with dimensions of 148 × 56 × 25 mm. The DCS-1800 variant is called NHK-4AX and was marketed in Germany under the name PT-11NF by E-Plus. The "i" or "NF" can be recognized from the outside through a slightly modified antenna that is not compatible with the original design. The most noticeable difference in practice: In contrast to the predecessor, in which an incoming short message was only signaled by a short, low-pitched beep that was easy to ignore in the factory settings, this happens with the "i" or "NF" as the SMS since then -Signal tone that has gone down in GSM history, the characteristic double "double beep", which was played here twice in a row.

Thermometers, calorie counters and volume meters in the Nokia 5100 only provide approximate values and are not calibrated.
- Nokia 5110/5130
The Nokia 5110 can be considered one of the classics alongside the 6110. Due to its functions, such as the integrated games (e.g. Snake ), the ease of use and the low price in relation to the competition, it became the entry-level mobile phone. In addition, it had exchangeable upper shells for the first time, which Nokia called Xpress On Covers and which many manufacturers have adopted in a similar form.
