Oberamt Creußen

The Oberamt Creußen was one of the 13 administrative areas of the Principality of Bayreuth with its seat in Creußen .

The Oberamt Creußen bordered in the north on the Amtshauptmannschaft Bayreuth , in the south on the Nuremberg nursing offices Betzenstein and Velden , in the west on the Bamberg Obervogtamt Pottenstein and in the east on the Upper Palatinate monastery administrator's office Michelfeld .

history

The Burggrafenamt Creußen already existed at the time of the Nuremberg burgraves . Under the margraves it was part of the Bayreuth administration. In 1680 the Oberamt Creußen was established. In 1766 the Oberamt Osternohe was incorporated, and in 1780 the Oberamt Pegnitz .

Towards the end of the 18th century, the Oberamt Creußen included the offices of Creußen, Lindenhardt, Osternohe, Pegnitz, Plech and Schnabelwaid.

From 1791/92 the Principality of Bayreuth was administered by the Prussian state as Ansbach-Bayreuth . The Oberamt Creußen was thus incorporated into the Bayreuth district .

Office Schnabelwaid

The burgraviate of Nuremberg and in their successor Brandenburg-Kulmbach were the feudal lords of Schnabelwaid. The lords of Künsberg were enfeoffed , who later sold their claims to the margraves. Since then Schnabelwaid has been an administrator.
