The Okres Michalovce is an administrative unit in eastern Slovakia with 109,322 inhabitants (2004, 2001 there were 109,121 inhabitants, of which 89,150 (81.7%) Slovaks , 12,819 (11.7%) Hungary , 4399 (4.0%) Roma ) and an area of ​​1,019 km².
