Pozdišovce ( Hungarian Pazdics ) is a municipality in eastern Slovakia .
The municipality is located in the north of the eastern Slovakian lowlands , on the Duša River , which flows parallel to the south for 40 kilometers between Laborec and Ondava . The municipality borders in the northeast on Močarany , a district of Michalovce , the fourth largest city in eastern Slovakia. Other neighboring communities are Krásnovce in the east, Šamudovce in the southeast, Laškovce in the south, Trhovište in the southwest, Moravany in the west and Suché in the north.
The Slovak trunk road 50 from Košice via Michalovce to the Ukrainian city of Uzhhorod (at the same time section of European routes 50 and 58 ) runs through Pozdišovce. The railway line Košice - Trebišov - Michalovce touches the southeastern edge of the municipality, the train stations in Močarany and Laškovce are each three kilometers from the center.
The place was first mentioned in writing in 1315 when a certain Peter Pazdics gave away the land around the place. The current name is derived from him via the Hungarian name. Today's Protestant church originally dates from 1334.
The population of Pozdišovce municipality consists of over 98% Slovaks . The last survey on religious affiliation (2001) gave a seldom mixed picture, even for East Slovak conditions:

- 33% Protestant
- 15% Orthodox
- 10% Greek Catholic
