Krišovská Liesková (Hungarian Mokcsamogyorós ) is a municipality in the east of Slovakia with a population of 935 (December 31, 2019) that the Michalovce District of, part kraj Košický , heard, and in the traditional landscape Zemplín lies.

geography

The municipality is located in the eastern part of the Eastern Slovak Lowlands , near the border with Ukraine , on the old river dike of the Uh , just before the confluence with the Laborec . The center of the village is located at an altitude of 101  m nm and is six kilometers from Veéké Kapušany and 30 kilometers from Michalovce .

Neighboring municipalities are Pavlovce nad Uhom in the north, Čierne Pole in the east, Veľké Kapušany in the southeast, Čičarovce in the south, Vojany in the southwest, Drahňov in the west and Stretavka in the northwest.

history

Today's municipality was created in 1960 through the merger of the following places: Krížany (until 1948 in Slovak "Mokča-Krisov" - until 1927 "Mokča-Kryšov"; in Hungarian Mokcsakerész ) and Liesková (until 1948 in Slovak "Mogyorós" - until 1927 "Moďoroš"; Hungarian Ungmog - until 1907 Mogyorós ). Krížany was created in 1914 through the merger of the places Krišov (Hungarian Kerész ) and Mokča (Hungarian Mokcsa ).

Krišov was first mentioned in writing as Kerez in 1321 . The first landowners came from the Kerészi family , Bercsényi in the 17th century ; later the village was part of the Ungwar estate . In 1427 18 porta were recorded in a tax register, in 1715 Krišov was an abandoned village with a subject family, in 1828 there were 31 houses and 232 inhabitants who were employed as farmers.

Liesková was first mentioned in writing as Monyoros in 1375 and changed hands frequently. From the 16th to the 19th century the Horváth family owned local estates . In 1427 six portals were recorded in a tax register, in 1600 there were 12 settlements in the village, in 1828 there were 65 houses and 508 inhabitants.

Mokča was first mentioned in 1330 in a document from the Erlau diocese as the seat of the Mokcsay family , who owned local estates until the 20th century. In 1427 the place had 17 portals, in 1715 it had nine households, in 1828 there were 34 houses and 249 inhabitants.

Until 1918/1919 the places in Ung County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary and then came to Czechoslovakia or now Slovakia. Due to the First Vienna Arbitration , they were again part of Hungary from 1938 to 1944.

According to the 2011 census, 903 residents lived in Krišovská Liesková, including 733 Magyars , 103 Slovaks , 16 Roma and four Ukrainians . 47 residents did not provide any information on ethnicity .

508 residents committed themselves to the Reformed Church, 235 residents to the Roman Catholic Church, 75 residents to the Greek Catholic Church and one resident each to the Jehovah's Witnesses, the Evangelical Church AB and the Orthodox Church; one resident professed a different denomination. 27 residents had no denomination and the denomination of 53 residents was not determined.
