Pedro , full name Pedro Guilherme Abreu dos Santos , (born June 20, 1997 in Rio de Janeiro ) is a Brazilian football player . He is used in the position of a center forward, alternatively as a right or left midfielder .

Pedro began his career in the youth division of Flamengo Rio de Janeiro , Duquecaxiense FC and Fluminense Rio de Janeiro .

At Fluminense , Pedro made the leap into the professional squad. Pedro made his debut on March 10, 2016 in the Primeira Liga do Brasil 2016 . In the home game against Criciúma EC he was in the starting line-up. This was his only use in the competition. But was able to win this competition with Fluminense . In the season 2016 Pedro came to his first stakes major league Brazil the Series A . Here Pedro made his debut on matchday 11 of the 2016 season . On June 26, 2016, his club met Flamengo Rio de Janeiro in an away game in the local derby . In the game, Pedro was substituted on for Richarlison in the 83rd minute . Two more missions followed during the season. In both he came from the reserve bank. He did not yet score a goal.

The 2017 season had several highlights for Pedro. He scored his first goal for Fluminense as a professional and in Série A. He also made his debut at international club level. He scored his first professional goal in the Primeira Liga do Brasil 2017 on January 24th, 2017. In the home game against Criciúma EC he scored the interim 2-1 in the 77th minute (final score -3-2). Pedro made his international club debut on April 6, 2017 in the 2017 Copa Sudamericana . In the first round, Fluminense met Liverpool Montevideo at home . In the game he was substituted on for Henrique Dourado in the 73rd minute . In the competition, Pedro also scored his first goal at international club level. On September 22, 2017 in the second leg of the second leg against LDU Quito , after being substituted on for Peu after the half-time break, he scored the connecting goal in the 87th minute after presentation by Gustavo Scarpa to make the final score 2-1. Thereby he secured Fluminense the semi-finals. Pedro scored his first Série A goal in the 2017 season two months earlier . On July 4, 2017, the eleventh day of the season, his club met Chapecoense at home . In the game, Pedro was in the starting line-up and scored the 2-2 goal in the 70th minute (final score: 3: 3).

Pedro was able to establish himself as a regular player in the 2018 season. He appeared in 13 games (7 goals) in the state championship of Rio de Janeiro and in the A series he played 19 of 21 appearances (10 goals) until an injury made him miss out on a long-term basis. In the game against the Cruzeiro EC on August 26, 2018, Pedro tore a cruciate ligament tear in the anterior cruciate ligament of his left knee, which had to be treated surgically. Fluminense announced that Pedro, who was leading the top scorer list in the championship at the time, would be out for at least six months.

In August 2018, it became known that Fluminense had refused high transfer fees for a move to foreign clubs. Girondins Bordeaux had made an offer of 8.5 million euros and CF Monterrey from Mexico made a 15 million euros bid.

At the beginning of September 2019, Pedro moved to Italy for Fiorentina . The transfer fee was 14 million euros plus 20% of all income from future transfers. The contract had a term of five years. In January 2020 Pedro was loaned to his home country to his youth club and reigning champion Flamengo Rio de Janeiro until the end of the year. The first game for Flamengo was played by Pedro in the state championship in Rio de Janeiro. In the away game against Resende FC on February 3, he was substituted on for Giorgian De Arrascaeta in the 65th minute and scored the 1-1 equalizer in the 73rd minute (final score: 1: 3 for Flamengo).

National team

On August 17, 2018, Pedro received an appointment from national coach Tite for the friendly games against the United States on September 7 and against El Salvador in the USA on September 11 . Due to his injury on August 26th, Pedro had to cancel his participation. In his place was Richarlison appointed.

In 2019 Pedro took part in the Toulon tournament with an U-22 selection. At the tournament he played four games and was able to win the trophy with the team.
