Peel en Maas is a municipality that was created on January 1, 2010 from the merger of the previous municipalities of Helden , Kessel , Maasbree and Meijel . The community has 43,342 inhabitants (as of January 31, 2019).

College of Mayors and Aldermen
The college of mayors and councilors will be formed from the coalition parties CDA , Lokaal Peel en Maas and VVD from 2018 to 2022 . The CDA provides two councilors to the college, the other coalition parties each offer one councilor. These were appointed during a council meeting on May 15, 2018. Parish name
The population determined the name with the help of the Internet. The suggested names Helden and Land van Kessel were ultimately not used.
