Ponornytsia

Ponornyzja ( Ukrainian Понорниця ; Russian Понорница Ponornitsa ) is an urban-type settlement in the east of the Ukrainian Chernihiv Oblast with around 2,200 inhabitants (2014).

Panorama Ponornytsia

The village was founded in 1664 and has had urban-type settlement status since 1960. Ponornyzja is the administrative center of the settlement council of the same name in Korop district , to which the villages of Selena Polyana ( Зелена Поляна ) and Rychly ( Рихли ) also belong. The settlement is located on the T-25-19 territorial road about 135 km northeast of the Chernihiv oblast center and 30 km north of the Korop district center .
