history
The place was mentioned in writing for the first time in 1174, it gained greater importance until the 17th century and even had city rights. The importance of Sribne then fell sharply, in the 18th century the place was only managed as a market town, at the beginning of the 20th century only as a village. Since 1965 it has regained urban-type settlement status .
