Sosnytsia

Sosnyzja (Ukrainian Сосниця , Russian Сосница / Sosniza ) is an urban-type settlement in the Ukrainian Chernihiv Oblast . It is located 80 km east of Chernihiv and is the center of the raion of the same name with about 8,000 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2005).

Not far from the river meets Sosnytsia Seim into the Dnepr leading Desna . In addition to the main town, the municipality includes the villages of Hannivka ( Ганнівка ) and Male Ustja ( Мале Устя ).

history

The place has been known since 1247 . Olexandr Dowschenko , one of the most famous Ukrainian directors , was born in Sosnytsia .
