Lynowyzja ( Ukrainian Линовиця ; Russian Линовица Linowiza ) is an urban-type settlement in the south of the Ukrainian Oblast Chernihiv with about 2,700 inhabitants (2014).
The village was founded in 1629 and has had urban-type settlement status since 1960. Lynowyzja is the only village in the settlement council of the same name in Pryluky district and is located on the regional road P-67 about 170 km southeast of the Chernihiv oblast center and 15 km south of the Pryluky district center . The settlement has a train station on the Pryluky– Hrebinka railway line .
Personalities
The Russian-Ukrainian artist, writer, officer and friend of Taras Shevchenko Yakov Petrovich de Balmen was born on July 28, 1813 in Lynowyzja.
