Porsche AP18

The Porsche AP 18 is a tractor from Porsche-Diesel Motorenbau GmbH , which was based in Friedrichshafen and took over tractor production from Allgaier Werke from 1956 from 1957.

The particularly inexpensive Porsche AP 18 was also suitable for larger farms thanks to its modern and functionally high-quality equipment . As previously other models of Porsche-Diesel also received the Porsche AP 18 is an electrical equipment, consisting of the starter , the battery , glow plugs , lighting system and light machine of the company Bosch . The AP 18 also had a push gear from ZF or Getrag with a single-disc dry clutch from Fichtel & Sachs. This was equipped with five forward gears and one reverse gear and could optionally be expanded to include a crawler gear . The inner shoe brake, which is used as a steering brake and can be operated by foot, acts on the rear wheels of the tractor . With a turning circle of 2750 mm and a weight of around 1332 kg , the rear-wheel drive AP 18 was ideally suited for any work on uneven terrain.
