The Porsche AP 17 is a tractor from Porsche-Diesel Motorenbau GmbH , which was based in Friedrichshafen on Lake Constance and produced the Porsche AP 17 with a number of 5,500 units from 1951 to 1954.

The Porsche diesel AP 17 was considered a true innovation at the time . Both the engine and the gearbox housing were made of a special silumin - alloy made. This made the tractor more effective, lighter and therefore faster than any other on the market. The hydraulic fluid coupling and air cooling were also innovative for those times . The Porsche AP 17 diesel was particularly characterized by its air-cooled two-cylinder in - line engine , which could achieve a maximum output of up to 18 hp and a top speed of 26.1 km / h . The AP 17 also had a single-disc dry clutch from Fichtel & Sachs, as well as an oil-hydraulic clutch from Voith .

The Porsche AP 17 was available in two versions. The standard equipment had a left wing seat and rubber suspension in the seat shell. The special equipment also had a closed driver's cab and a hood on the right side of the fender . Optionally, a front fender or a second fender seat could be installed.
