The Porsche P 122 was a tractor from Porsche-Diesel Motorenbau GmbH, which was based in Friedrichshafen on Lake Constance and took over tractor production from Allgaier Werke from 1956 to 1957, with around 5800 examples of the tractor model being produced. The Porsche P 122 was the predecessor model of the Porsche Standard 208 .

1485  kg heavy Porsche tractor had an air-cooled two-cylinder engine with 16 kW, 1644 cc and 2000 / min, which as a 4-stroke in-line vortex chamber - diesel engine was designed. In addition to the crawler gear , which enabled particularly slow driving, the Porsche P 122 had a gearbox with five forward gears and one reverse gear. Depending on the tires on the rear wheels, the Porsche tractor could reach speeds of up to 28.2  km / h in forward gear and 3.6 km / h in reverse gear. The tractor's transmission was either equipped with a Getrag transmission or a ZF gear transmission. In addition, the P 122 had a differential lock that was supposed to prevent the tires from spinning when there was poor grip . With the foot-operated inner shoe brake , the tractor could be braked on the rear wheels. The reliable oil bath filter also filtered the foreign particles out of the air sucked in by the engine in an oil bath. In addition, the Porsche P 122 had a lockable and independent handbrake that braked the transmission. The tractor's steering brake braked the inner wheels, which resulted in a smaller turning radius .

A remote thermometer that showed the temperature of the engine in the driver's console under the steering wheel was standard. In addition, a hydraulic power lift with three-point linkage or a mower could be ordered as an option .
