Predajná (Hungarian Garampéteri - until 1902 Péteri ) is a municipality in the center of Slovakia , with 1316 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) and belongs to the Okres Brezno , part of the Banskobystrický kraj .
geography
The municipality is located in the valley landscape Horehronské podolie (informally Horehronie ) at the confluence of the Jasenica brook with the Hron . The main ridge of the Low Tatras rises to the north and the Poľana to the south . The center of the village is at an altitude of 461 m nm and is located 15 kilometers west of Brezno and 26 kilometers east of Banská Bystrica .
history
The place was mentioned in writing for the first time in 1284 as Predynich and belonged to the estate of Liptsch Castle from 1358 to 1848 . A brewery worked here from the 17th to the 19th century, and a sawmill in the 19th century. The main source of income for the population was agriculture.
