history

The area was first mentioned in writing in 1274 as silva Wazuch , i.e. as a forest called Wazuch. The Bogomir family from Liptov received in a document the right to soap gold in the Bacúšsky potok brook . Seasonal settlements were deep in the forest, away from the current location. After that, however, evidence of permanent settlement is uncertain, only in 1563 does the village appear as a Bazuch , which was founded in the 15th century around iron ore mines and smelters that were owned by the Neusohl merchants Schaffer and Gaismair. Over time, the village changed into a logging settlement. In 1828 there were 68 houses and 499 inhabitants who were employed in forestry and as raftsmen, carters and saw workers.

Until 1918 the place in Sohl County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary and then came to Czechoslovakia or today Slovakia.
