Pryasowske ( Ukrainian Приазовське ; Russian Приазовское Priasovskoye ) is an urban-type settlement in the Ukrainian Zaporizhia Oblast with about 6,600 inhabitants (2019) and is the administrative center of the raion of the same name .
geography
Pryasowske is located in the south of the Zaporizhia Oblast 143 km southeast of the Oblast center Zaporizhia on the river Domusla (Ukrainian Домузла ). The settlement is on the M 18 ( E 105 ) trunk road , via which Melitopol can be reached after 26 km in a north-westerly direction. The shore of the Sea of Azov is 20 km south of the village.
In addition to Pryasowske itself, the settlement council also includes the villages:
- Hamiwka (Ukrainian Гамівка ⊙ ), about 480 inhabitants
- Novoiwaniwka (Ukrainian Новоіванівка ⊙ ), about 220 inhabitants
- Tawrijske (Ukrainian Таврійське ⊙ ), about 200 inhabitants
- Vysneve (Ukrainian Вишневе ⊙ ), about 110 inhabitants
- Biloritschanske (Ukrainian Білорічанське ⊙ ), about 90 inhabitants
history
The place was founded by Nogai people . After their emigration to Turkey, the place was settled by Ukrainian farmers from 1860 onwards. The 1886 census found 582 households and a population of 3,600 people. Until 1935 the village was called Pokrovka Druha (Ukrainian Покровка Друга ). From October 7, 1941 to September 20, 1943 the place was occupied by the Wehrmacht . Pryasowske received urban-type settlement status in 1957.
