Qolobaa Calankeed (also Qolobaa Calenkeedu Waa Coynoo ) is the national anthem of the Federal Republic of Somalia .
With the provisional constitution of the Federal Republic of Somalia of August 1, 2012, the patriotic song, composed and sung by Abdullahi Qarshe in the 1950s, was introduced as the new national anthem. The text is from Xuseen Aw-Faarax. Qolobaa Calankeed replaced Somaliyaay toosoo (in German: Somalia awake ), which had been in use as the anthem of the Republic of Somalia since 2000. Because of its great fame and popularity, Somaliyaay toosoo is still often sung instead of the official national anthem on public occasions.
