Ry Tanindrazanay malala ô is the national anthem of Madagascar . The music was composed in 1958 by Norbert Raharisoa (1914–1963), a pianist, music teacher and professor from the capital Antananarivo . The text was written by the priest Pasteur Rahajason (1897–1971). The Malagasy parliament officially declared the work to be the national anthem by decree of April 27, 1959.

Ry Tanindrazanay malala ô
Ry Madagasikara soa.
Ny fitiavanay anao tsy miala,
Fa ho anao, ho anao doria tokoa.

Refrain:

Tahionao ry Zanahary
'Ty Nosindrazanay ity
Hiadana sy ho finaritra
Hey! sambatra tokoa izahay.

2nd stanza

Ry Tanindrazanay malala ô
Irinay mba hanompoan'anao
Ny tena sy fo fanahy anananay
'Zay saro-bidy sy mendrika tokoa.

3rd stanza

Ry Tanindrazanay malala ô
Irinay mba hitahian 'anao,
Ka Ilay Nahary' zao tontolo izao
No fototra ijoroan'ny satanao.

German translation

1st verse:

Oh you beloved land of our ancestors
Oh you beautiful Madagascar
Our love for you will not wane
but will always exist for you.

Refrain:

You Creator God, bless
this island of our ancestors.
She will know peace and joy

2nd stanza:

O beloved land of our ancestors,
