Flag of the Kingdom of Libya (1951 to 1969) and Libya (since 2011)

Libiya, Libiya, Libiya ( Arabic ليبيا ، ليبيا ، ليبيا, DMG Lībiyā, Lībiyā, Lībiyā  ‚Libya, Libya, Libya ') is the national anthem of Libya . It was introduced as the national anthem of the Kingdom of Libya when independence was proclaimed in 1951 and remained valid until the overthrow of the monarchy by Muammar al-Gaddafi on September 1, 1969. After Muammar al-Gaddafi came to power, Libya, Libya, Libya were replaced by the song Allahu Akbar , which was originally written as a marching song for the armed forces of Egypt . The National Transitional Council , formed on February 27, 2011, reintroduced the former national anthem along with the old flag of the kingdom. The third stanza of the text written by al-Bashir al-Arebi, which was dedicated to the former King Idris I , is no longer used today. The music comes from the Egyptian musician Mohammed Abdel Wahab , who also composed the music for the Tunisian national anthem Humat al-hima and the national anthem of the United Arab Emirates ʿĪschī bilādī and made the musical arrangement of the Egyptian national anthem Biladi, Biladi, Biladi .

German translation

Oh my country! With my struggle and my patience drive
away the enemy and misfortune,
and survive!
Survive through all adversities, we are your guarantors
Libya, Libya, Libya!

1. Oh my country! You are the legacy of the grandfathers,
May Allah ward off any hand that could harm you,
If you survive we don't care if we fall.
Our silent prayers are out to you
that we, oh Libya, will never turn out to be unworthy of you.
We will never return to the shackles, we have been set free,
and we have set free our homeland:
Libya, Libya, Libya!

2. Our grandfathers took their swords
as the fight they called
The holy Quran in one hand, sword in the other hand
they fought until they brought faith, peace and prosperity
into the world to
them, be eternal glory
They built the foundation of ours Righteousness,
Libya, Libya, Libya.

3. Honor Idris , the descendant of the conquerors.
He is the symbol of struggle and jihad.
He carried our flag high.
And we followed him to liberate our country.
He built the glory of his throne.
And raised Libya into the sky.
A free flag
Over a rich country,
Libya, Libya, Libya.

4. Oh son of Libya, rich son of the lions
We stand for the glory
And the glory is yours
When we started our fight, all the people were with us
May Allah protect our independence
Strive for the highest heights
And be ready for battle, oh ours Youth
life is war for the glory of our homeland,
Libya, Libya, Libya.

Remarks

  1. The third stanza is no longer used due to its reference to the monarchy.
