Reichenbach is a district of the town of Wassertrüdingen in the Ansbach district in Middle Franconia ( Bavaria ).

geography

The village is surrounded by arable land and grassland on the south bank of the Wörnitz about 4 km west of Wassertrüdingen. In the east the corridor is called Höllfeld. Approx. The Dürrenbuck ( 497  m above sea level ) rises in the forest area 1 km southeast . Municipal roads lead to Stahlhöfe (0.7 km southwest), to Aufkirchen (3.1 km northwest) and crossing the district road AN 47 to Wassertrüdingen (4 km east).

history

In 813 the name of a Hermanus de Rychen appears in the church registers of Aufkirchen, which is probably derived from "von Reichenbach". Reichenbach was first mentioned in a document in 1261, due to a testimony by Heinricus de Reichenbach. At this point in time, the Reichenbach Castle apparently already existed.

The knight seat Reichenbach

“Reichenbach, Richenbach or Rychenbach was an ancient knight seat and owned a permanent house. This was between the village and Wernitz, where beautiful meadows are spreading today. "..." According to a description in an old Röckinger hall book, the castle consisted of a dwelling house (castle), cattle house, barn, kennel, courtyard, forecourt and gardens were surrounded by walls, chapel, tree garden and hag. Two gates led into the interior. One opened on the Wörnitz, the other on the village. "

Approx. from 1400 the noble family of the "von Seckendorff" was predominant in Reichenbach, whereby the castle kept changing hands. The property of the Lords of Reichenbach included a number of ponds between Reichenbach and Fürnheim, as well as goods in Fürnheim, Opfenried and Dambach, Stahlhof, as well as the two Goschenhöfe and many forests. In addition, the Lords of Reichenbach had the sole rulership of the village in Fürnheim until 1257, which included an office building, parish fair protection and preferential rights. From 1470 there was a chaplaincy in the nearby castle chapel, but it was no longer occupied after the Reformation from 1531. The Reformation and the Thirty Years' War left the castle orphaned and finally fell into disrepair. From 1687 it is reported that the stones of the now dilapidated castle were transported to Wassertrüdingen to repair the castle there. The last reference to the castle was the so-called "Schlossbuck", a rampart that led from the outskirts towards Wörnitz and probably served as the entrance to the southeastern castle gate.

From the 18th century

The Fraisch over Reichenbach was controversial. It was claimed by both the Ansbach Oberamt Wassertrüdingen and the Oberamt Aufkirchen in Oettingen-Spielberg . The village and community rulership was exercised jointly by the Ansbach administration office Röckingen and the Oberamt Aufkirchen. Towards the end of the 18th century there were 17 properties and a community shepherd's house in Reichenbach. The principal of all properties was the Principality of Ansbach ( Auhausen administration : 1 property; Röckingen administration: 1 brickworks, 3 courtyards, 1 estate, 5 houses, 1 house with brewing and licensing rights, 1 blacksmith's, 1 bakery, 1 chaplain’s house).

In 1806 Reichenbach came to the Kingdom of Bavaria . With the Gemeindeedikt the place was the 1809 tax district and the Rural Municipality Fürnheim assigned. With the second community edict (1818), the rural community Reichenbach was formed, to which the places Forsthöfe and Stahlhöfe belonged. In administration and jurisdiction it was subordinate to the media sub-court in Aufkirchen and in the financial administration to the Oettingen Rent Office (from 1850 to 1919 Wassertrüdingen Rent Office, renamed Wassertrüdingen Tax Office in 1919 , Gunzenhausen Tax Office from 1932-1973 , Ansbach Tax Office from 1973 ). In 1819 the administration and jurisdiction was transferred to the Oettingen Lordship Court on this side of the Wörnitz , from 1820 to 1848 the Mönchsroth Lordship Court was responsible, which was converted into a court and police authority in 1848, which expired in 1850. From 1850 to 1879 jurisdiction lay with the District Court of Wassertrüdingen, from 1879 to 1956 the District Court of Wassertrüdingen was responsible, from 1956 to 1970 the District Court of Gunzenhausen and from 1970 to 1973 the District Court of Dinkelsbühl , which has been a branch of the District Court of Ansbach since 1973 . The administration was taken over by the newly created Dinkelsbühl district office in 1862 (renamed the Dinkelsbühl district in 1938 ). With the dissolution of the Dinkelsbühl district in 1972, Reichenbach came to the Ansbach district. In 1961 the municipality had an area of 2.242 km². In the course of the territorial reform , this was incorporated into Wassertrüdingen on July 1, 1971.
