Robin Udegbe (born March 20, 1991 in Kiel ) is a German - Nigerian soccer goalkeeper .
Career
In his youth, Robin Udegbe only played for the lower-class TSV Russee from Kiel, before he moved to the youth department of Holstein Kiel and in summer 2007 to the B-youth of Fortuna Düsseldorf . With this he played in the U-17 Bundesliga and came to three missions in the 2007/08 season . After relegation Udegbe left the club. In January 2010 he signed a contract with Rot-Weiss Essen for their second team. In the summer he had to leave the club, he joined the Lower Rhine division SC Düsseldorf-West in September .
In January 2011 the youth department of the Dutch first division club VVV-Venlo became aware of him. He was initially committed to the second team, Jong VVV-Venlo . At the beginning of the 2011/12 season he signed a professional contract and was the third goalkeeper behind Dennis Gentenaar and Wilko de Vogt . Due to a protracted back injury from Gentenaar in the first half of the season, Udegbe was often a substitute on the bench. On December 17, 2011, the 17th matchday of the season, Udegbe made his professional debut in the Eredivisie when he came on in the away game against NEC Nijmegen (0-2) in the 59th minute for the injured Wilko de Vogt. At the end of the 2012/13 season , VVV-Venlo was relegated, which is why Udegbe was able to leave the club in the summer of 2013 without a transfer. He then kept fit with the association of contract footballers.
On September 16, 2013, the regional league team KFC Uerdingen 05 signed him . He made his debut on September 24, 2013 when he came on as a substitute for Borussia Mönchengladbach's U23 team, after Volkan Ünlü was sent off for a handball outside the penalty area in the 7th minute of the game. With good performances he secured the regular place in goal in the following period.
In March 2015 he received a two-year contract with Rot-Weiß Oberhausen , where he replaced Philipp Kühn as goalkeeper.
After 119 league appearances in three and a half seasons as the goalkeeper of Oberhausen, Udegbe returned to promoted KFC Uerdingen during the winter break of the third division season 2018/19 . For the Krefeld team, he was only used in the Niederrheinpokal for the next year and a half , so that his contract was terminated by mutual agreement after the 2019/20 season. Then the regional league team SV Straelen took him under contract.
