South Pacific Games 1963
The South Pacific Games in 1963 ( Engl. South Pacific Games in 1963 ) were to September 8, 1963 August 29, Suva , capital of Fiji discharged. These games were the 1st edition of the South Pacific Games . A tennis ball struck by Nono Tani at 9 a.m. on August 29, 1963 marked the official start of the South Pacific Games (from 2011: Pacific Games ).
A total of 130 female and 516 female athletes from thirteen nations and territories took part; they fought in the ten sports basketball , boxing , soccer , athletics , netball , rugby , swimming , tennis , table tennis and volleyball as well as 59 competitions for 179 medals. Carl Bay (Fiji) was the most successful participant with five gold medals.
