Shajing culture
The Shajing Culture ( Chinese 沙井 文化 , Pinyin Shājǐng wénhuà , English Shajing Culture ) was a culture in the last stage of the Bronze Age in China. The eponymous site was first discovered in 1923 by the Swedish geologist Johan Gunnar Andersson in the village of Shajing沙井, Minqin in the Gansu province . It extended over the area of Minqin, Yongchang and Gulang in the Hexi Corridor (Gansu Corridor). When it comes to ceramics, the red jiashatao type comes first , with vessel shapes there are the single-handle jugs (dān'ěrhuàn 单 耳 罐), two-handle jugs (shuāng'ěrhuàn 双耳 罐), cylindrical beakers (tǒngxíngbēi 筒形 杯) and the Li - Vessel (lì 鬲, a three-legged saucepan), some decorated with string patterns or colored stripes, triangles or birds. As for artifacts, there are also knives, axes and arrowheads made of stone, bronze knives and bronze triangular arrowheads (sānléngzú 三棱 镞); also were golden earrings , turquoise - and shellfish jewelry discovered. In the later period, the residences had extensive walls, essentially similar to those of the time of the Eastern Zhou Dynasty in the Zhongyuan area. The Shajing culture is dated 1300–789 BC. Dated, d. that is, it falls in the late stage of the Shang Dynasty ( Yin Dynasty ) or the beginning of the Western Zhou Dynasty into the spring and autumn periods . From their age and distribution area it can be deduced that the Shajing culture belonged to the ancient people of the Yuezhi (月氏).
