history

The county is named after the Revolutionary War general John Sullivan .

The Roebling's Delaware Aqueduct (2006) over the Delaware River is one of 71 properties in the county on the National Register of Historic Places .

One place in the county has the status of a National Historic Landmark , the Delaware and Hudson Canal . A total of 71 structures and sites in the county are registered on the National Register of Historic Places (as of February 21, 2018).
