price
The Thuringian Monument Preservation Prize can be awarded to people, projects and institutions that have made a special contribution to the preservation of monuments. The Thuringian State Chancellery is in charge of the award ceremony . The aim of the award is to draw attention to extraordinary achievements in the field of monument preservation that go beyond what is required under monument protection law, and which can thus develop a role model for new projects.
Exemplary achievements in the rescue and preservation of architectural and art monuments as well as archaeological monuments in Thuringia, the convincing dissemination of the monument preservation idea in the public, excellent scientific achievements in the theory and practice of monument preservation as well as many years of outstanding work in the field of architectural and artistic monument preservation are worthy of the award as well as the archaeological preservation of monuments.
The possible award winners are proposed by the Thuringian monument protection authorities, the Thuringian State Office for Monument Preservation and Archeology as well as other bodies and associations associated with the preservation of monuments. Criteria for the selection include personal commitment, the contemporary use of historical buildings, the type of financing and the overall quality of monument preservation as well as the possibility of barrier-free access to the renovated properties.
The winners are selected by a jury of experts. The award is endowed with prize money of 40,000 euros , half of which is provided by the Free State of Thuringia and the Sparkassen-Kulturstiftung Hessen-Thüringen and divided among all award winners.
