Tschormos ( Russian Чёрмоз ; also Tschermos ) is a small town in the Perm region ( Russia ) with 3861 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010).
geography
The town lies on the western edge of the Central Urals about 100 km north of the regional capital Perm on the right bank of here for Kama Reservoir pent Kama , near the mouth of the river Chyormoz .
Chormos is located in the Ilyinsky district .
history
Tschormos was created in 1701 (according to other sources in 1761) in connection with the construction of the Tschormosski Sawod copper works , which was later converted into an ironworks . In 1943 the place received city rights.
When the Kama reservoir was filled around 1958, part of the city and with it the ironworks were flooded; the number of inhabitants decreased considerably.

Culture and sights
Despite the flooding of part of the city, various buildings from the 19th century have been preserved, such as the Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary ( церковь Рождества Богородицы / zerkow Roshdestva Bogorodizy) from 1836 with a remarkable clock tower and the building of the factory administration from 1812.
