Tschuchkowo ( Russian Чу́чково ) is an urban-type settlement in the Ryazan Oblast in Russia with 3122 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010).

The place is about 120 km as the crow flies east-southeast of the Oblast administrative center Ryazan in the area between the Oka and its right tributaries Mokscha and Zna .

Tschutschkowo is the administrative center of the Rajons sealed Uch Frankowski and seat and only town of the municipality Tschutschkowskoje gorodskoje posselenije.

history

The place was first mentioned in 1676. From the 18th century he belonged to the Ujesd Shazk , from 1879 to the Ujesd Saposchok of the Ryazan governorate .

In 1929 Chuchkovo became the administrative seat of a newly created Rajons named after him. Since 1958 the place has had the status of an urban-type settlement.

Tschuchkowo has a train station at kilometer 346 of the railway line Moscow  - Ryazan  - Rusayevka  - Syzran, which opened on this section in 1893 and has been electrified since 1960 . The regional road 61K-013, which branches off 20 km south of the federal highway M5 Moscow - Samara  - Chelyabinsk , leads into the settlement .
