history
The place arose from 1866 in connection with the construction of a station on the new railway line Ryazan - Kozlov (today Michurinsk ). The station was initially called Ranenburg because at that time it was closest to Ranenburg (today Tschaplygin ), 30 km to the south-west . After the city had a direct rail connection in 1890, the original Ranenburg station was renamed Alexandro-Nevskaya , after the national hero Alexander Nevsky . The station settlement belonged to the Ujesd Ranenburg of the Ryazan governorate .
On July 12, 1929, Alexandro-Newski became the administrative seat of a newly created Rajons, initially named after him, but which was renamed Novoderewensky on December 23, 1929 (renamed June 18, 2012). Since July 4, 1945 Alexandro-Nevsky has had the status of an urban-type settlement.
