geography

Verton is located in the Marquenterre countryside near the Opal Coast . Verton is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Rang-du-Fliers in the north, Airon-Saint-Vaast in the northeast, Wailly-Beaucamp in the east, Lépine and Conchil-le-Temple in the southeast, Waben in the south, Groffliers in the southwest and Berck in the west.

The A16 autoroute runs along the eastern edge of the municipality .

In 1870 the municipality of Rang-du-Fliers was separated from the municipality of Verton.
