Villa Collemandina is an Italian municipality with 1268 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Lucca in the Tuscany region .

The place is about 36 km north of the provincial capital Lucca and about 80 km northwest of the regional capital Florence in the landscape of the Garfagnana . The districts are at heights between 549 m and 1600 m and extend over an area of ​​34.81 km². The mean population density is around 39 inhabitants / km². Collemandina is in the climatic classification of Italian municipalities in Zone E, 2 792 GG. The most important body of water in the municipality is the Torrente Corfino , which spends 9 of its 12 km in the municipality and later flows into the Serchio .

The place was first documented in 1168 in a document from Pope Alexander III. The place was almost completely destroyed in the earthquake of 1920.

  • Chiesa dei Santi Sisto e Margherita , medieval parish church from the 12th century with a cloister from the 14th century, which was the only building in the surrounding area to survive the earthquake of 1920 unscathed. Only the campanile was damaged and rebuilt in 1926. The church is in the main town.
