The Barrio Villa Dolores is named in honor of Dolores Pereira de Rossell , who together with her husband Alejo Rossell y Rius donated the property after her death on March 14, 1919, which is now one of the two, the Parque Zoológico Dolores Pereira de Rossel zoological gardens of the Intendencia Municipal de Montevideo and the municipal planetarium are housed.
