This has been the official coat of arms of Zimbabwe since September 21, 1981 .

description

The shield is green , occupied by a silver ruin, seven blue wave poles in the silver shield head . Coat of arms holders are two upright looking kudu on a shared piece of savannah , with a cotton plant at the bottom , a clump of ripe cotton bushes and a corn plant with cobs; a hoe and a Kalashnikov crossed behind the shield ; all natural color . In place of the helmet a golden bead, wrapped by a green-silver ribbon, above it a red five-pointed star, topped with a golden galliform bird looking heraldically to the right on a golden and black pinnacle (?). The black mottoUnity, Freedom, Work ” on a silver ribbon under the sign .

Explanations

The head of the shield symbolizes the Victoria Falls , the ruins the old Zimbabwean megalithic culture . The bird goes back to an illustration found in the ruins of ancient Zimbabwe , is reminiscent of the large form of a cliff or rock hen and is the emblem of the republic.
