history

overview

In the Middle Ages, the Count Palatine of Tübingen and then the Counts of Hohenberg exercised power over Eutingen . From 1381 to 1805, Eutingen was part of Upper Austria in the possession of the Habsburgs .

In 1685 the place burned down to a large extent.

Through mediatization during Napoleon's time, Eutingen and the Gäu came to Württemberg in 1805 . According to the new administrative structure in the Kingdom of Württemberg established in 1806 , Eutingen was assigned to the Oberamt Horb .

In 1874, Eutingen was connected to the Wuerttemberg railways network by building the Nagold Railway to Horb .

Eutingen and the incorporated districts have belonged to the district of Horb since 1938 due to the district reform during the Nazi era in Württemberg . In 1945 Eutingen became part of the French zone of occupation and thus came to the newly founded state of Württemberg-Hohenzollern , which was incorporated into the state of Baden-Württemberg in 1952.

In 1973 the district reform took place in Baden-Württemberg , when Eutingen became part of the Freudenstadt district . The municipality has had the name affix in the Gäu since November 19, 1971.

The Federal Highway 14 runs right through Eutingen and separates the city into two parts. The so-called Gäutrasse ( federal road 28 new between Freudenstadt and Ergenzingen ) - the bypasses of Bildechingen and Eutingen i. Gäu - was deleted from the Federal Transport Infrastructure Plan without replacement when the Federal Transport Infrastructure Plan was updated in 2003/04.
