history

Georg Muck equates the "Cigilhove" mentioned in a document from 1249 with Ziegendorf. In this document, the Heilsbronn Monastery was protected by Pope Innocent. From a linguistic point of view alone, however, it is impossible how the current form came about. The first secured document comes from the year 1300. There the place is called "Ziechendorf". The meaning of the place name is unclear. The goat or the personal name Sigo was adopted as the defining word, but both are unlikely from a linguistic point of view. According to Elisabeth Fechter, the final word should be the Old High German word ziohan (to pull) and the place name should mean Ziehbrunnendorf.

In 1344 the nearby Heilsbronn monastery acquired five properties from Messrs. Eisvogel and Tucher .

In the 16-point report of the Oberamt Windsbach from 1608, 6 teams are listed for Ziegendorf: 3 farms and 1 Köblergut were subordinate to the Heilsbronn monastery administration office , 2 farms to the imperial city of Nuremberg . There was also a communal shepherd's house. The high court exercised the Brandenburg-Ansbach caste and city bailiff's office in Windsbach . According to the 16-point report of the Heilsbronn Monastery Office, also from 1608, the four Heilsbronn properties are classified as 2 courtyards and 2 Köbler estates. As a result of the Thirty Years' War , the five Heilsbronn properties were deserted and were still vacant 17 years after the war.

In the Oberamtsbeschreibung of the Principality of Ansbach by Johann Georg Vetter from the year 1732, the place is described as follows: “A Weyler, 6 subjects belonging to the Heilsbron administration office, 1 whole, 2 Halbhöff, 1 Guth and 2 Tropffhäuslein included - 1 in the Reichalmosen Office and 1 In the official description of the Lichtenau Nursing Office from 1748, only 5 subjects from Heilsbronn are given for the place in addition to the 2 Nuremberg subjects, as well as 1 common Hirthenhauß .

Towards the end of the 18th century there were 7 properties and a shepherd's house belonging to the municipality in Ziegendorf. The high court exercised the caste and city bailiff's office in Windsbach, the village and community rulership was held by the Heilsbronn monastery administrator. The landlords were the Heilsbronn monastery administrator (2 courtyards, 1 estate, 1 estate, 1 drip house ) and the imperial city of Nuremberg (state alms office: 1 courtyard; St. Jobst's Siechenkobel Foundation: 1 courtyard). At that time there were 8 subject families, 6 of which were subordinate to the Windsbach Chamber of Commerce. From 1797 to 1808 the place was under the Justice and Chamber Office Windsbach .

As part of the community edict, Ziegendorf was assigned to the Petersaurach tax district formed in 1808 . It also belonged to the rural community Petersaurach founded in 1810 . With the second community edict (1818), Ziegendorf was re-incorporated into the newly formed rural community Altendettelsau . In the course of the regional reform , this was incorporated into Petersaurach on January 1, 1972.
