Ōguchi ( Japanese 大 口 町 , Ōguchi-chō ) is a city ( -chō ) in the district ( -gun ) Niwa of the Japanese prefecture ( -ken ) Aichi , historically part of the Owari province .
history
In 1906 a part of Kashiwamori (柏森 村), plus Ōta (太 田村), Koguchi (小 口 村) and Tominari (富 成 村) were combined to form the village (町) Ōguchi (大 口 村). In 1962, Ōguchi was raised to Chō (町) in a regional reform.
Transport links
Ōguchi is a dormitory city, from which 30% of the population commute during the day. Just one kilometer south of the city limits, the Tōmei motorway begins in Komaki towards Nagoya , Toyota and, after 350 kilometers, Tokyo .
economy
The two large machine tool manufacturers Yamazaki Mazak and Ōkuma have their headquarters in Ōguchi .
Town twinning
Since 2015 there has been a town partnership with Matsue , the capital of Shimane in Chūgoku / western Japan .
