history

Ťapešovo, like many other places in the area, emerged as part of the Wallachian colonization of the area in the 16th century and was first mentioned in writing in 1580 as Tyapesso . The village belonged to the rulership of the Arwaburg and was administered by inheritors. In 1588 there were six farmhouses in Ťapešovo, in 1604 only five. Kuruc uprisings in the 17th century, the so-called "frozen year" 1715 and a plague epidemic in 1739 with 122 victims caused serious setbacks in the development of the community. In 1828 there were 56 houses and 381 residents who were employed as farmers and cattle herders.

The place in Arwa County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary until 1918 and then became part of Czechoslovakia or now Slovakia.
