Aamir Khan
Aamir Khan ( Hindi आमिर ख़ान Āmir Kh ān , born March 14, 1965 in Bombay , Maharashtra , as Mohammed Aamir Hussain Khan ) is an Indian actor, producer and film director. He is one of the most famous actors in Hindi film and became known to a wide audience with Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak (1988).
Life
Aamir was born into a family connected with the film industry. His father Tahir Hussain was a producer, his uncle Nasir Hussain a director. He is a descendant of Abul Kalam Azad , an Afghan Tajik from Herat , who later became an Indian writer, freedom fighter and minister.
Aamir Khan married Reena Dutta on April 18, 1986 . You have two children. In December 2002, the two separated after a 16-year marriage. Khan has been married to Kiran Rao since December 28, 2005 , and their son was born on December 1, 2011.
Career
Aamir has starred in a number of films directed by his cousin Mansoor Khan . Aamir's brother Faizal is also an actor. Aamir began his career as a child star in the 1973 film Yaadon Ki Baraat when he was eight years old. He wrote the script for the film Hum Hain Rahi Pyaar Ke (1993), in which he also starred. He also sang in the hit film Ghulam himself .
Aamir is known for working on one movie at a time instead of many at a time, which is very unusual in Bollywood . Aamir's perfectionism paid off in his first production: Lagaan - Once Upon a Time in India was a huge success and won an Oscar nomination for Best Foreign Language Film in 2002. The following year he was awarded the Padma Shri .
His project called The Rising (2005), filmed in both English and Hindi , broke all cinema records in India on the opening weekend. He played the role of Mangal Pandey in this film , a member of the British East India Company Army and a leader of the Indian Rebellion in 1857 . Apart from the films Rang De Basanti - The Color Saffron and The Rising - Uprising of Heroes , he has signed a contract for the film Fanaa with the director Kunal Kohli , in which Kajol also played a role.
In 2007 Khan made his debut as a film director with Taare Zameen Par - A Star on Earth, in which he also played one of the two main roles. The drama tells the story of an imaginative eight-year-old boy who has a learning disability and is sent to a boarding school by his frustrated parents for discipline. There the boy makes friends with his new and motivated art teacher, who recognizes and promotes the boy's potential. Khan's debut directing was a great success with critics in India and won the 2008 Filmfare Award in the categories of film and directing. In the same year Taare Zameen Par prevailed as India's official candidate for an Oscar nomination in the category Best Foreign Language Film against Ashutosh Gowariker's historical film Jodhaa Akbar , Umesh Vinayak Kulkarni's comedy Valu and the film Tingya .
In 2008, Khan played a murderer with anterograde amnesia in the remake of the same name, Ghajini , who wants to avenge the death of his wife. The film is inspired by real events and the character Sanjay Singhania uses photos and notes to orient himself.
Aamir came into conflict with the BJP through public demands for (better) compensation for those affected by the Sardar-Sarovar Dam on the Narmada in the Indian state of Gujarat .
In 2011 he was appointed to the competition jury of the 61st Berlin International Film Festival .
Since March 2012, Khan has been a talk host on the Indian television show Truth Alone Prevails . The show has historically phenomenal ratings in India with more than 470 million Indian viewers weekly.
In 2013, Khan played a dual role in the third installment of Yash Raj Films' Dhoom series . In the action film he can be seen together with Katrina Kaif , Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra .
In 2014, Khan came into conflict with violent Hindus with his film PK . As a Muslim, Hindus accused him of ridiculing other religions with his film. However, he denied any allegations and announced that he respected all religions.
Aamir Khan's German voice actor had been Philipp Brammer since the first broadcast of Lagaan - Once Upon a Time in India in 2004 until his death in 2014 , but Andreas Fröhlich also gave him his voice on occasion .
In 2017 he was accepted into the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), which awards the Oscars every year.
